The Bank of England says it has launched a consultation supporting central counterparties accepting tokenised eligible collateral, and considers the existing regulatory framework is not a barrier if collateral meets central clearing standards. The proposed Supervisory Statement aims to clarify how the Bank would assess applications involving tokenised collateral; the consultation closes on 12 February 2027.
