2026-11-05 · gov press
South Africa welcomes the adoption, with 87.37% of votes in favour, of a COP13 resolution it co-sponsored that establishes a process to elaborate an additional UNTOC Protocol on wildlife and timber trafficking, illegal mining, mineral trafficking and waste trafficking. Minister David Maynier calls it a significant achievement and says environmental crime is organised crime requiring coordination with other countries.
